HISTORY

The land and facilities for Devaloka were purchased during the auspicious time of Navaratri in the fall of 1993.  The energized forms of Radha Natabara and Durga were installed in the public portion of the facility. With the installation of the forms, the spontaneous congregation of Fairfield’s meditating community naturally arose.  During the next 13 years, Devaloka functioned mainly as a venue for visiting preceptors, yoga acharyas, musicians, and pandits.

In 1999 Devaloka was incorporated as a non-profit 501(C)3 center for self-development.  It maintains that status to this day.  All charitable donations are tax deductible and go towards funding the programs for the individual and community.

In 2006 the Ashram had a change in community program offerings. The focus was dedicated to a weekly program of Laya Yoga representing the teachings of the Chandika Sampradaya.

The year 2023 began perhaps the final phase of the facility. The next few years are dedicated to sharing fulfillment, knowledge and experience. Tadrupa, the founder, has reached the age that is appropriate to step back from public persona. He has, in 2025, introduced the Foray Program that is designed to work one on one with an individual for personal development and fulfillment.
