FOUNDER

Tadrupa is the founder of Devaloka Ashram.  He has taken on the role of preceptor in the Ashram based on a lifetime of experience along with encouragement of the Gurus that he has lived with or had close association with.

There were a number of points in space and time that propelled Tadrupa into the stream of realization offered by the schools of Yoga.  The first and foremost came at the early age of 10.  When instructed in a tenant of catechism of the Catholic Church denoting that “God is Everywhere”, Tadrupa entered the realization of qualified Non-Dualism. This philosophical concept can be understood through the texts of Ramanujacharya.  Although a child, he was able to grasp the concept enough that the experience completely transformed his perception of reality, God, and religion. Much to the dismay of his parents.

Tadrupa began regular yogic meditative practices at age 19.  The ensuing 40 years brought a broad exposure to many different schools of Yoga along with association of their respective Gurus. His choice of Gurus has reflected the realization of qualified non-dualism. The foremost is a western born tantric Yogi of the Chandika Sampradaya, who had his own consummate realization that he describes as “God Alone Is” while visiting the great Saint Anandamayi Ma.

Tadrupa, the Founder of Devaloka Ashram

It was while spending close personal association with yogis that Tadrupa received Shaktipat, the descent of Grace.  It was after this experience that Tadrupa received his spiritual name. All the Gurus that Tadrupa has been associated with reiterate the importance of close personal contact as being paramount in the growth of realization.  It was this personal contact that delivered Tadrupa to a sense of fulfillment.

After a lifetime of service to the United States Government with the Postal Service, Tadrupa was inspired to dedicate his remaining years to serving the local community through Devaloka Ashram. It is the wish that Devaloka will add value to and be in harmony with the surrounding community that the ashram resides in.  Tadrupa offers his services and programs free of charge.  Donations are accepted and are tax deductible.  The ashram’s own unique programs are an offering of service to the time honored paradigm of Guru disciple relationship that Tadrupa is fortunate to be a part of.
